New Delhi, Oct 16: Two days after the rape of a Swiss diplomat, Delhi Police today remained traceless of the culprits but claimed to have got some vital clues. Police has prepared sketches of the two men who abducted the Swiss woman from the Siri Fort Auditorium and raped her in her car on Tuesday night, a senior police official said, claiming police has obtained vital clues and were working on the leads.
Police has also submitted a report on the incident to the external affairs ministry which is in touch with the Swiss Embassy. Meanwhile, the victim, after giving her statement and helping in the preparation of sketches is believed to have left for Switzerland, police sources said. Five policemen, deployed outside the auditorium, the venue for the 34th International Film Festival of India, have been suspended for laxity in duty.
The assault took place when the woman was leaving Siri Fort Auditorium after watching a movie at around 10 pm.
As she entered her car in the parking lot of the auditorium, two men forced themselves into the vehicle. One of them raped her as the vehicle was driven through South Delhi streets, they said.
The victim was later dumped by the duo in Safdarjung Enclave area, about five kilometres from the place of abduction, they said. Bureau Report
