Mumbai, Oct 29: Cricketing legends and former India captains Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev have joined hands with a sports management company to promote various other sports, including golf and hockey, all over the world.
Percept D'mark's CEO Sanjay Lal told reporters here Monday that it was an honour to have two stalwarts of Indian cricket on the board of Percept D'mark.
"We have worked on independent projects with Kapil and Gavaskar in the past and today the three have joined hands to become a stronger force for the betterment of sports," Lal said.
"It feels great to be associated with a young and dynamic team that has a clairvoyant vision towards sports in India. I have watched them gain supremacy over the years in the field of sports and it will be great to complement their vision and add value to sports management in India," Gavaskar said.
Kapil Dev said their partnership with Percept D'mark was purely professional and it was not a charitable work.

"I have seen Percept grow since 1996 and their achievements are tremendous in the field of sports. Their professionalism and vision have made them undisputedly the leaders of the sporting business in the country," he said.

"What I also truly appreciate is that they are not only thriving on India's number one sport (cricket) but are also eager to make other sports reach similar heights. I am extremely happy to be part of this team and I am sure I and Sunil (Gavaskar) can help other sports too to develop in a big way," Kapil said.

Percept is expected to announce its first major event before the year ends.
