Beijing, Nov 05: Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf today concluded his three-day state visit to China after meeting with the entire new top leadership, including top military brass. Prior to his departure, Musharraf met with the Central Military Commission (CMC) Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Defence Minister General Cao Gangchuan.

On Monday, Musharraf had official talks with Chinese President and General Secretary of the ruling Communist Party of China, Hu Jintao and signed a first-ever joint declaration on bilateral ties that defined the principles for the furture-oriented Sino-Pakistani bilateral ties. Yesterday, he met with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Parliamentary Chief, Wu Bangguo as well as the head of the top advisory body, Jia Qinglin and exchanged views on bilateral, regional and international issues of common concern.

The new Chinese leadership assured Musharraf that Beijing would step up efforts to cement the traditional Sino-Pakistani "all weather" relationship despite the twist and turns in international relations.

Musharraf's next stop is the South Korean capital, Seoul. Bureau Report
