Srinagar, June 22: In the first such incident of its kind since eruption of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir, ultras killed two persons including the widow of a Congress leader by injecting poison into them in Poonch district, official sources said today. Three ultras barged into the house of Rani Begum, wife of a Congress leader Abdul Gani killed by militants earlier, in Hari village of Surankote area on June 20 night and kidnapped her, the sources said.

They took Rani Begum to a nearby area and beat her mercilessly, the sources said adding the militants later killed by injecting some poisonous substance into her.

The woman, who had left the village for Surankote town after her husband's killing, had recently returned to the native village with her family, the sources added.

Gani was cousin of ex-speaker and former Pradesh Congress president Choudhary Aslam.

In a similar incident, militants entered the house of Feroz Din at Hari Safeda of the same district last night and killed him by injecting poison, the sources said.

Elsewhere, eight ultras were among 11 people killed in the state since last evening.

Security forces busted three major militant hideouts and seized a huge stock of arms and explosives including 240 UBGL grenades and 10,503 rounds of ammunition in the state since last evening, the spokesman said.
