Mumbai, Jan 13: The Supreme Court has allowed two weeks time to absconding CISF jawan R Namdeo to surrender for hearing his appeal against a high court order cancelling his bail in a murder case even as the trial court set January 19 as the deadline for declaring him a proclaimed offender. Namdeo's appeal came up for hearing before the supreme court yesterday and his plea for two weeks time to surrender was considered, his lawyer said.
The CISF jawan is facing the charge of killing Deputy Commandant A Karanjkar at airport here on May 24 last year for refusing to grant leave.
Meanwhile, Namdeo's parents have informed police that he was missing since last month and had not contacted his family.
