Guwahati, Jan 19: The Assam government cabinet sub-committee, on the proposed Bodoland Territorial Council, has given the green signal to the Centre to sign the Memorandum of Understanding for formation of the BLT.
A spokesman of the state government said today that the cabinet sub-committee conveyed the decision to the Centre in a meeting held here late last night. The sub-committee also urged the Centre to ensure that the rights of the non-Bodos was not compromised.

On the demand of additional 93 villages to be included in the BTC as demanded by the Bodo organisations, the cabinet sub-committee said that the stand taken by the chief minister, Tarun Gogoi, that less than 50 per cent Bodo population would not be included in the BTC would stand.
