Patkar asks exemption of court fee in defamation case
Indore, Sept 02: Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) leader Medha Patkar today appeared in a local court seeking exemption from paying a court fee in the defamation case filed by her against Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Jamuna Devi for allegedly describing her as a `foreign agent`.

Gupta she appeared in the court of additional district judge M
K Mudgal to record her statement in writing asking exemption
of fee as per law claiming her income to be below Rs 6000.
Patkar has filed a defamation suit of Rs ten lakh against Jamuna Devi for allegedly describing her as "foreign agent" receiving "foreign funds" for running her movement.
The court after recording her statement fixed the next date of hearing in the case for September 19, they said.
Patkar said the Devi's allegations were published in newspapers and she has "evidence to prove them in the court of law".
