New Delhi, Feb 17: In tune with their new-found bonhomie in bilateral ties, India and china have signed a memorandum of understanding, which allows the two countries to exchange scholars working in the field of social sciences and humanities. The MoU was signed by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) chairman V R Panchamukhi and the Beijing-based Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Vice President Prof. Wang Luolin here yesterday. The new arrangement will facilitate the two institutions to swap visiting scholars, on a reciprocal basis, pursuing research work in social sciences and humanities. Mr Luolin lamented the fact that there had been a limited exchange of scholars between India and China. But with the new agreement, the situation would change for the better, he hoped. Bureau Report
