Davangere, Nov 05: Karnataka Home Minister M Mallikarjun Kharge today ruled out pardoning police sub-inspector Girish Loknath Mattanavar who was arrested for planting crude bombs at the legislators' home in Bangalore. Speaking to reporters here, he said, "There is no question of excusing the police sub-inspector."
Preliminary investigation had revealed that the sub-inspector was having "deep connections" with various organisations, Kharge said. He however denied to comment on the nature of the organisations.
"The law of the land will take its course against Girish," he said.
Answering queries on nabbing forest brigand Veerappan, the minister said combing operations were in full swing.
Some weapons and satellite phones had already been purchased by the state government and "we are anticipating some more weapons and funds from the Centre", he added. Bureau Report
