Chandigarh, Sept 18: A joint meeting of all the 11 Kisan organisations of Punjab, who are now struggling separately will be held today to evolve common minimum agenda and to plan a common action to intensify the ongoing agitation regarding "burning of just demands" of farmers. Prem Singh Bhangu, State President of All India Kirti Kisan Sabha said in a statement here that the initiative for launching the joint struggle was taken by six Kisan organisations on September 10 at the time of mass rally. There is a strong feeling in Kisan organisations in particular and farmers in general that without joint and decisive struggle, the anti-farmer and adamant government cannot be forced to concede the demands of farmers, he said.

Organisations have hotly contested the claim of chief minister that he has conceded their majority demands and there would not be any negotiations with farmers. "There is an urgent need of a strong coordinated action irrespective of political affiliations and commitment if the interests of farmers are to be protected", he said. Bureau Report
