New Delhi, Sept 07: India has initiated anti-dumping investigations against imports of PVC paste resin from Korea, Saudi Arabia and European Union. Acting on a petition by Chennai-based Chemplast Sanmar Ltd, the designated authority directed initiation of anti-dumping investigation into the existence, degree and effect of alleged dumping of polyvinyl chloride paste resin originting in or exported from Korea, Saudi Arabia and European Union.

The period of investigations is October 01, 2002 to June 30, 2003, according to an official notification.
The authority observed that there was prima facie evidence that normal value of the subject goods in exporting countries was significantly higher than the ex-factory export price indicating that subject goods (PVC paste resin) were being dumped by exporters from these countries.
In another case, the directorate general of anti-dumping and allied duties initiated anti-dumping investigations against imports of propylene glycol from US, Singapore, Korea and EU.
