Paradip (Orissa), June 03: Two persons were arrested on Monday in connection with the attack on BJD Paradip Unit President Kishori Parida here on May 27, police said. Five armed miscreants had chased Parida, who is also the president of Paradip Banika Sangha, in the busy Badapadia market and unsuccessfully fired at him from a revolver. They then hit him with Bhujalis.
A total bandh was observed in the town on May 28 to protest the incident.
Parida is presently undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College Hospital at Cuttack.
In another incident, miscreants looted at gun point Rs 1.5 lakh from a contractor of Kargil India company here.
