London, June 22: It turned out be a fruitful outing for the Indian trio, who turned out for different teams in the Twenty20 cricket cup championship, with Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag and Mohammad Kaif each ending up on the winning side.
The most impressive among the three was Yuvraj Singh who shone both with the bat and the ball in the match between Yorkshire and Durham at Headingley.
Yuvraj raced to a 9-ball 22, just the kind of quickfire innings required in this unique 20-overs-a-side format, as Yorkshire amassed 198 for four to set a daunting target for their county rivals.
Yuvraj's knock included three fours and a towering six.
He then returned to scalp three wickets while conceding 20 runs in three overs as Durham could manage just 143 runs for eight in 20 overs to suffer a 55-run defeat.
At Trentbridge, Leicestershire beat Nottingham by one wicket in a thrilling contest. Sehwag, roped in by Leicestershire as one of their two overseas players, first took two wickets and then capped it up with a 17-ball 26.
His knock was laced with four fours and a six.
Mohammad Kaif did nothing much to write home about but his side Derbyshire beat Lancashire by a comprehensive seven-wicket margin.
Kaif was trapped leg before by Kyle Hogg for seven which came off 12 balls and included one four.
