Punjab roadways workers vow to battle against privatisation
Moga, Oct 21: Scores of Punjab roadways and other trade union workers today pledged to oppose `privatisation` of the roadways and other PSUs as also fight against curbing of rights of trade unions threatening to launch an agitation to press for their demand.

The pledge was taken at a Shaheedi Conference organised by Punjab government transport workers union to pay homage to union leader Nachhattar Singh Dhaliwal, who was shot dead by militants on this day 15 years back in 1988.
G L Dhar, secretary of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), Jagrup Singh assistant secretary Punjab CPI, Hardev Arshi former MLA of CPI and Bant Brar secretary AITU Punjab unit were among those who addressed the conference.
The conference while expressing concern over "criminaliation and communalisation" of politics called upon secular forces in the country unite and defeat the designs of such divisive forces endangering the unity and integrity of the country. Bureau Report
