Mumbai, July 29: Six Air India unions including the recognised Indian Pilots' Guild have sought immediate termination of the top executives and officers on special duty (OSD), who are on extended tenure beyond superannuation and opposed employment of people on contract in carrier. The government should take immediate steps to improve the absymal industrial relations scenario and keep the plans on formation of subsidiaries and companies in Air India on hold, Joint Action committee of unions said in a statement after meeting held on Monday.
AI unions -- AI Employees Guild, AI Cabin Crew Association, AI Aircraft Engineers' Association and AI Officers' Association and Indian Flight Engineers' Association - have demanded re-recognisition of their sister union Indian Pilots' Guild. Bureau Report
