20 lakh devotees pour water on Shiv lingam at Bagpat
Meerut, July 27: About 20 lakh devotees have poured water, brought from Holy Ganges in Haridwar, on the Shiv lingam at 120-year-old Lord Shiva temple at Bagpat since last night and another two to three lakh are expected to offer water by tonight.

Giving the information Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth said Kawarias (Shiv devotees) get holy water from Haridwar on foot to offer on Shiva Temple in their
vicinity.
He appreciated Baghpat district administration for elaborate arrangement made for Kawarias. In Meerut, about a lakh Kawarias offered water on Shiv lingam at Augharnath Shiva Temple and about 50,000 more were expected to offer by tonight, Meerut senior superintendent of police Mukul Goel said.
