Chandigarh, Oct 29: Haryana government today decided to include relatively new sectors of bio-informatics and telemedicine in the list of information technology enabled services in view of their potential for investment and employment. A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala here, an official spokesman said.
The decision would also ensure future growth of industry in these sectors, which in turn, would generate employment and revenue in the state, he said.
The incentives available to it enabled service would also be made available to these sectors, the spokesman said.
He said according to Confederation of Indian Industry, the global bio-informatics industry was expected to have a turnover of USD 60 billions by 2005 and in case the industry and government work together, it was possible to achieve a five per cent share of global market by 2005, which amounts to USD three billion.
