Seoul, Oct 19: South Korea's football association, disappointed with the national team's bronze medal at this month's Asian Games, has sacked coach Park Hang-seo, officials said on Saturday. The decision to fire Park, who assumed the post in August, came during a meeting of the association's technical committee on Friday.

"Coach Park lacked experience as a coach and leadership for the team," said Kim Jin-Kook, head of the association's technical committee, which is in charge of selecting coaches.

South Korea lost to Iran in the Asian Games semifinals this month.
South Korea will try to select a new coach among domestic candidates but the association does not rule out hiring a foreigner, a news release said. Bureau Report
