Jammu, June 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister, Mangat Ram Sharma has said the ruling PDP-Congress government in the state is committed to provide equal opportunities of development to all the three regions of the state. Addressing a public meeting at the border town of Nowshera last evening, Sharma said several bold steps have been taken by the government to provide basic facilities to the people especially those living in border and rural areas.
Referring to the complaints of general public for over charging of fare by transporters, he called upon the people to lodge their complaints to the concerned department for taking stern action against the defaulters.
He also asked the district administration to take steps to ensure that no matador operator over charges the commuters.
He said that the government is keen to provide relief to the people who have migrated from the border areas.
He issued instructions to the district administration for preparing the proposal for the settlement of relief cases of border migrants for sanction of special grants by the government. Bureau Report
