Jaipur, July 22: With six more drowning deaths in different parts of Rajasthan since yesterday, the toll in the torrential rains in the state so far has gone up to 52, police said today. Five people, including two children, were swept away in a rain-swollen stream near Govindgarh in Jaipur district, while a youth drowned in Jaisamand lake of Udaipur, police said.

Heavy rainfall resulted in washing away of five small dams in Jaipur district inundating large stretches of farm land and some villages in Chomu, Shivard, Bakuni, Koria Sagar and Phagi areas, they said.

Due to heavy downpour in the catchment areas of the state, five major dams were flowing above the danger level, and twenty others were showing full water level, an irrigation department release said.
