Elderly Indians wanting to travel to Britain do not have to necessarily go to the British mission in Chennai personally for visas. They can now avail of a drop box facility. It is applicable to those 65 years of age and above wanting to visit their children in Britain.
The facility will be available to those who have travelled to Britain within the last 10 years.
It will be also available to those who have travelled to the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or Schengen countries.
A statement from the British Deputy High Commission said the drop-box system was being put into place from this week, keeping in mind the increase in volume of travellers to Britain. Bureau Report
