Adelaide, Australia, Feb 08: Sweden will pit Jonas Bjorkman against Mark Philippoussis in today's first reverse singles in an effort to clinch victory in their Davis Cup first-round tie. The late change was confirmed by coach Mats Wilander an hour before the start at memorial drive. Bjorkman replaces rookie robin Soderling, who lost to Lleyton Hewitt on Friday.
Bjorkman starred in a five-set doubles triumph yesterday alongside Joachim Johansson to put Sweden ahead 2-1.
Philippoussis has beaten the 31-year-old seven times while losing four. One of his victories came last spring in a quarterfinal in Malmo.
Australia have only come back from 2-1 down once in the past decade. Bureau Report
