Govt regrets initiation of anti-dumping probe by China
New Delhi, May 30: Government today regretted initiation of anti-dumping investigations by China into imports of chloroform from India.

When contacted, Vinay Kohli, secretary, ministry of chemicals and fertilizers told a news agency: "It is unfortunate. We will be in touch with commerce ministry and industry on the issue".
An official statement from the Chinese commerce ministry said China today began formal investigation into whether four countries and regions including European Union, South Korea, US and India had engaged in dumping of chloroform.
The investigation is expected to conclude by May 30, 2004 and may be extended to November 30, 2004, if necessary, the statement said.
