New Delhi, July 19: There was uproar in the Lok Sabha on Friday following a Times of India report that an NGO had to bribe tribal welfare ministry officials to obtain funds. The report cited an Intelligence Bureau document. During the Question Hour, Santosh Mohan Deb of the Congress sought to know the veracity of the report.

Deb was supported by other Opposition members, who too demanded that Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram came clean on the issue.
Speaker Manohar Joshi ruled that if the member was making an allegation, he had to give a notice though. Personal allegations were not permitted, he said.
RJD member Raghuvans Prasad Singh said he had given a notice on this matter to which the Speaker observed "when your notice comes to me, I will do the needful. I know you have given notice."
Responding to Deb's remarks, Oram said, "I spare no one. I have tightened the system and therefore some people must have felt bad. I have not seen the report." Bureau Report
