Jammu, May 19: Terming the peace initiatives as moves in "good" direction, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti today hoped it would lead to better India-Pakistan relations and restoration of normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. "This initiative is continuing in good direction for better Indo-Pak relations", she told a public gathering at Satwari, on the outskirts of the city, on her first visit after assuming the post of PDP chief.
"We hope this fresh initiative would not only restore good relations but also lead to solution and peace in Kashmir", Mehbooba said.
She said the state government would give ex-gratia to the families of missing persons as disappearance cases are also human tragedy.
On employment front, Mehbooba said Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had promised 50,000 jobs this year and as many next year. Bureau Report
