Dehradun, July 25: Opposition parties in Uttaranchal tonight intensified their attacks on the N D Tiwari government and demanded its immediate resignation on moral grounds in the unwed mother scandal. Following the registration of a case against Harak Singh Rawat by CBI, the leader of the opposition and former chief minister Bhagat Singh Koshiyari sought the resignation of the government saying that the CBI's move amply proved that the government was "hands in glove" with former revenue minister.

"If they have any morality left, the government must resign immediately," the BJP leader said in statement tonight.
State NCP president Surya Kant Dhasmana also sought explanation from the government as to why it failed to register a case against Rawat, who allegedly fathered the child of the unwed mother.

BSP also demanded the resignation of the government on moral grounds.
