Vadodara, Oct 28: The police custody of Nanhe Mian, a dismissed CRPF constable arrested in connection with the Godhra train carnage, was today extended by a day by a local court. Nanhe Mian, alias Nikku Chaudhary, was produced in the court of first class magistrate A R Patel at Godhra.
Police, in its remand plea, said that extension of remand period of Mian was necessary for further investigations into the case.
The Godhra railway police told reporters on phone here that Nanhe Mian is considered to be one of the key accused in the case.

The questioning during Mian's 10 days police custody earlier had led to the arrest of two persons from Kashmir - Gulam Nabi and Mohamed Ali - for their alleged links with persons involved in the train carnage.
They were on October 26 remanded to eight days' police custody. Bureau Report
