Sonepat, May 06: Claiming the voters were aware that the country had "suffered" during the previous Congress regime, Union Health Minister and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj has said the BJP-led NDA government had given a new hope to them by pursuing the policies of development, progress and prosperity. Addresssing an election rally in support of BJP nominee Kishan Singh Sangwan in the Anaj Mandi here last evening, she said the party was seeking vote for Atal Bihari Vajpayee`s five years of good governance against the congress`s 50 years of "bad" governance.

She attributed major problems dogging the country including Kashmir, unemployment, militancy, poverty and farmers` plight to congress.

Claiming the nation had suffered during the reign of Nehru-Gandhi family, Swaraj questioned the wisdom of those who thought that congress president Sonia Gandhi could become the prime minister.
