In a memorandum submitted to Shastri here, a delegation of
party leaders headed by leader of the opposition in the
Legislative Council Ahmed Hasan, alleged that the government
had forcibly acquired about 5,000 bighas of land belonging to
the SC, ST and poor farmers in Chandauli district to be sold
through the industry department.
They alleged that police had made lathi-charge on the farmers, who had staged a protest demonstration at Chandauli on August 8 adding the SP legislator, who led the demonstration, was implicated in SC/ST Act. Bureau Report
