Kolkata, Aug 11: Ahead of its crucial working committee meeting scheduled on August 13, Trinamool Congress would stage a dharna in front of the Prime Minister's residence tomorrow even as sharp differences among its leadership over the question of quitting NDA plagued the party. Insiders in Trinamool Congress here say that party chief whip in the Lok Sabha Sudip Bandopadhyay continued to oppose any proposal of leaving the NDA. Bandopadhayay, who had expressed his view in the last working committee meeting of the party had the support of at least one more MP, they said. Though TC had organised a meeting in his constituency yesterday to protest against the bifurcation of Eastern Railway, Bandopadyay chose to be in Delhi at that time.
In an apparent DIG at them, TC supremo Mamata Banerjee had stated during the meeting that some MPs want to be ministers but there were majority numbers who were prepared to sacrifice.
