Lucknow Oct 11: Elaborate security arrangements are being made to ensure peace during VHP's proposed Ayodhya march next week and no one will be allowed to flout the high court directive on maintaining status quo at the disputed site, Kalyan Singh, president, Rashtriya Kranti Party, a partner in the ruling up coalition government, said today.
Elaborate security arrangements will be made to ensure that nobody takes law into their hands or flouts the high court directive on Oct 17, he told newspersons here.
Singh, who was up chief minister when the Babri mosque was demolished in 1992, said as the common people were "no longer in favour" of the movement, he was sure they will not participate in the Oct 17 programme and that the day would pass off peacefully.
Regarded as the mahanayak (architect) of the temple movement at one time, Singh said the movement has "lost its seen and it has now been reduced to just an election gimmick of the BJP and VHP which is revived every five years".
To a question, the RKP president said the BJP had "no regard" for the judiciary and had been "using it to its benefit" all along.
