Sobhraj gets bail in immigration case, detained over murders
Kathmandu, Oct 16: `Bikini killer` Charles Sobhraj was today granted bail by a Nepalese court on charges of travelling on a fake passport, but he would continue in custody here in connection with a double murder in 1975.

Sobhraj's trial in the immigration case began in the Kathmandu district court yesterday, and after two days of hearing, Judge Bir Singh Mahara granted him bail for seven days. But Sobhraj, also known as "serpent" would continue in custody as the police had requested his detention to probe the death of two foreign tourists. Sobraj will be produced before the court in connection with the double murder case tomorrow, Deputy Superintendent of Police K C Ganesh said. Bureau Report
