Jammu, Jan 24: The National Conference today categorically ruled out any alliance with the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
"We will not fight forthcoming elections for Lok Sabha in alliance with BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, as BJP is not our like-minded party at all," Nc chief Omar Abdullah told reporters here.
"Our alliance with like-minded party is basically based on secular character," he said, adding, "NC is open to alliance with such like-minded parties."
The NC did not join hands with the BJP for the polls to the state assembly for the same reason, Abdullah said, adding that the party entered an alliance with the NDA after the general elections in 1999.
The former Union minister said his party would contest all the six Lok Sabha seats in the state and candidates for the same would be decided in the first week of February.
The party would raise the issue of greater autonomy for the state in the forthcoming general elections, he said. Bureau Report
