Indore, Feb 07: With a view to explore possibilities of increasing Indo-British business ties, a British delegation arrived in the city on a two-day visit today to focus on business potential of non-metro cities. The team, led by British Deputy High Commissioner Howard Parkinson, comprises nine businessmen and eight senior members of commercial arm of British Deputy High Commission at Mumbai. The Indo-British Partnership (IBP) established in 1993 to further enhance trade ties between the two countries, was now focussing on the potential of non-metro cities, Parkinson told reporters here. During their stay, members of the team will visit companies in various sectors including automotive, IT, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, he said. UK-India bilateral trade has grown by 67 per cent and UK was India's second largest trading partner after United States and accounted for five per cent of India's total foreign trade in goods in 2001-02, Parkinson said.
