New Delhi, June 21: A sub-divisional officer of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Bilaspur has been arrested for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 40,000 from a contractor to clear his pending bills, CBI spokesman said here today. The accused, Sanjay Sharma, was arrested by the CBI sleuths yesterday while allegedly demanding and accepting Rs 40,000 from the complainant, for clearing his pending bills of the underground cable laying work, inside the BSNL inspection Bunglow in Bilaspur, he said. The spokesman said the contractor had complained to CBI about the alleged demand for illegal gratification after which the trap was laid to apprehend the SDO. Bureau Report
