Tirupati, Oct 07: It would have to be scientifically proved who carried out the October 1 blast injuring Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and four others, despite the PWG claim owning responsibility, a top official of the special investigating team, probing the case, said today. "The media might have carried the claim that PWG was responsible for the blast. But we have to scientifically find out who were involved in the operation," D T Naik, chief of the SIT, told newspersons.
SIT, comprising five or six small teams, was probing the blast, Naik said, adding he would camp in the temple town till the investigation was completed.
He denied reports that some arrests had been made. "If we achieve any breakthrough, we will immediately let the press know”.
Earlier Naik spent about 90 minutes at the blast site. He verified a 'blueprint' made by local officials on the blast operations and walked through the area from where the ultras escaped after triggering the blasts.
S Subramanian, an expert in providing vip security for the Andhra Pradesh government, and DGP S R Sukumara, were among those who visited the blast site during the last five days.
