Bajaj Auto August sales up two pc, bikes jump 16.8 pc
New Delhi, Sept 01: Bajaj Auto, India`s second-largest two-wheeler maker, has posted a modest two per cent growth in sales during august at 98,175 units against 96,317 units in the same month last year.

Motorcycle sales grew by 16.8 per cent year-on-year to 76,487 units from 65,475 units, a company statement said.
Sale of three-wheelers went up by 9.1 per cent to 19,601 units, it added.
The company also recorded a 31 per cent rise in export of two and three-wheelers at 11,699 units during the month under review. It comprised over 6,600 motorcycles and 4,700 three-wheelers.
Sales of the premium motorcycle model 'Pulsar' grew by 117 per cent to over 29,000 units while in the executive segment, the 'Caliber 115' and 'Wind 125' models clocked a 110 per cent growth to 23,500 units.
Bajaj Auto said the contribution of its executive and premium models to total motorcycle sales went up to 69 per cent in August from 38 per cent last year. In the three-wheeler segment, sale of goods carriers jumped by 93 per cent to 2,038 units.
Of this, Bajaj Auto sold over 1,200 units of the latest higher payload goods carrier 'GC-1000' during August.
It plans to increase production of the vehicle to 2,000 units per month. Bureau Report
