Nagpur, July 26: In an effort to encourage youngsters, the Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA) has announced prizes worth Rs 70,000 for the 26th sub-junior under-16 west zone national football championship for Mir Iqbal Hussain trophy commencing here tomorrow. Addressing a press conference here today, NDFA president Atal Bahadur Singh and secretary of Western India Football Association (WIFA) Haresh Vora said it has been decided to give prizes like colour TV, music system, wrist watches and cameras as incentives to players. There will be prizes for man-of-the-match as well as for the oustanding player of each fixture. There will be a special prize for the man-of-the-tournament. Teams from Goa, Daman and Diu, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and hosts Maharashtra would be participating in the meet, co-hosted by city police which has provided free accomodation to players.
All the matches would be played at Police Line Takli grounds here, Singh said.

A panel of referees, nominated by all India Footall Federation (AIFF) will supervise the championship while Peter Thomman (Kerala) will be the match commissioner, Vora added.

Maharashtra will take on Daman and Diu in the inaugural match followed by Chhattisgarh vs Gujarat match.
