New Delhi, Dec 02: Refusing to be dampened by Central Vigilance Commissioner`s denial that he had named Union Ministers having `milked` public sector units, Congress asserted on Nov 23, that it would not give up the issue and raise it in the Winter Session of Parliament beginning today.
New Delhi, Dec 02: Refusing to be dampened by Central Vigilance Commissioner's denial that he had named Union Ministers having "milked" public sector units, Congress asserted on Nov 23, that it would not give up the issue and raise it in the Winter Session of Parliament beginning today.
"We stick to our demand for a Parliarmentary probe into the allegations and their resignation," party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy told reporters here.
Replying to a question whether the party would move the court if the government was not forthcoming and stall the proceedings like it had done after the Tehelka expose, Reddy said the party would take up the matter in Parliament and expressed the hope that the government would not scuttle it, he said.
When his attention was drawn to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's remark that Congress should withdraw its allegations and tender an apology, he said "Vajpayee will have to regret when all facts are placed before the people."
The CVC had stated that "the reports that I have named ministers, especially Commerce Minister Arun Jaitley and Petroleum Minister Ram Naik are wild, baseless and totally absurd. Absolutely no names were taken."
