The meeting of the leaders of PDP, Congress, People's
Democratic Forum, National Panthers Party and CPM, second
within five days, was held last evening with Chief Minister
Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in chair, to send a loud and clear
message to the opposition that the alliance partners were
determined to further strengthen the unity, official sources
said today.
The meeting comes in the wake of claims made by the main opposition national conference that there were differences within the coalition and it is bound to collapse.
As a follow up to the decisions taken at the coordination committee of the coalition which met on October 15 stressing the need for greater coordination between the alliance partners, the coalition leaders besides discussing the over all functioning of the government called for formulation of a comprehensive policy to involve private sector in strengthening and expanding the educational infrastructure in the state, the sources said.
Keeping in view the opinion expressed by the leaders of the alliance, education minister Harshdev Singh has been asked to prepare a comprehensive policy and submit before the cabinet, the sources said. Bureau Report
