New Delhi, Sept 17: Tanvir Ahmed from Madhya Pradesh was today elected chairman of the newly constituted Haj Committee formed since the enactment of the Haj Act, 2002, after a lapse of 100 years. Ahmed's name was proposed by Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, BJP general secretary and member of Rajya Sabha. Hasan Bakar Kazmi from Uttar Pradesh was appointed vice chairman.
