Jammu, Sept 07: Denying any involvement of his family in militancy, Jammu and Kashmir minister Abdul Aziz Zargar today termed as false reports that his Manzgam residence was a hideout from where Akshardham Temple attack was masterminded. "We are not involved in militancy at all. Instead we are under threat and many attacks have been carried out by militants on me and my family members in the past, records of which are filed with police," Zargar said.
Terming media reports about his house having been a hideout for militants and that the Akshardham attack was plotted there, he said it was a conspiracy to give him a bad name and sideline him from the government. "Why should have we allowed our residence to be a hideout, that too for those who engineered the most un-Islamic act," he said.
Reports had said the prime accused in the Akshardham Temple attack revealed during interrogation that two Lashker-e-Toiba militants had made Zarkar's residence their hideout before leaving for the attack in Gujarat. Bureau Report
