Bhagalpur (Bihar), Apr 26: A district court today issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Janata Dal (United) leader and party nominee from Maharajganj Lok Sabha seat Prabhunath Singh, and four others in connection with the kidnapping and murder of four CPI-ML (Liberation) workers in 1994. Chief judicial magistrate, Bhagalpur, Vinay Kumar Singh issued the non-bailable arrest warrant against Prabhunath Singh, his brother Deenath Singh and three others -- Raj Bahadur Singh, Arjun Singh and Madan Singh -- for allegedly killing four CPI-ML workers after kidnapping them on May 16, 1994.
According to the complaint, the JD (U) leader and others allegedly attacked a meeting of CPI-ML in the campus of Masrakh Board School in Saran district, kidnapped the four and killed them later.
On the orders of Patna High Court, the trial of the case was transferred from Saran to Bhagalpur so that Singh could not influence the proceedings.
