Rs. 4.5 lakh in prizes up for grabs in Bangalore Speed Run
Bangalore, Nov 20: Bharat Petroleum and Autocar yesterday announced the Bangalore round of Speed Run 2003, a drag event, a form of motorsport, for cars and bikes here on November 22 and 23.

The drag meet would essentially consist of an acceleration test from a standstill to the 400-metres mark and the winners would be based on the car and the driver who clocks the least elapsed time over the distance.
Briefing reporters, Hormazd Sorabjee, editor of Autocar India, said the last Speed Run held at Mumbai in January saw over 200 entries.
The categories include Indian bikes, foreign bikes, Indian cars and foreign cars.
Apart from trophies, prizes worth Rs 4.5 lakh would be up for grabs in the Bangalore round of speed run, he said.
