Reigning DTM champions Mercedes have been testing their C Class car for the 2004 German Touring Car season at Barcelona's grand prix circuit.
The drivers who will drive the new car include the 2003 champion Bern Schneider, Christijan Albers, Jean Alesi and Gary Paffett. During three days of testing, they covered a distance of about 1,000 kilometres. The roll-out took place one week before the presentation of the modified street version of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which will be launched this spring. The car is equipped with the same engine as the CLK which has been used since 2000, with improvements being made to the four-litre V8 engine. The chassis has also been adjusted to the dimensions of the four-door car.
