New Delhi, Apr 05: Yes Bank on Monday announced the appointment of Ajay Mahajan as country head (financial markets) for India. Mahajan was managing director and country treasurer (global markets group) at Bank of America. He shall be assuming his new responsibility at Yes bank in May 2004 and shall report directly to Rana Kapoor, managing director and CEO of Yes Bank.

"The Yes Bank opportunity is a highly entrepreneurial one which will enable me to build a modern and sophisticated financial markets business across several product offerings with state of the art technology in the growing Indian market place. We plan to build a strong and solid treasury, excellent balance sheet management and differentiating product capabilities," Mahajan said. Kapoor added: "It is our fullest endeavor to attract the finest talent in India in our pursuit to establish a high quality, technology driven, private Indian bank." Bureau Report
