Jakarta, Sept 29: Indonesian investigators will leave for Pakistan tomorrow to question six compatriots detained there over suspicion of involvement with the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) terror group, an official said. "The team will finally leave for Pakistan on Tuesday," said foreign ministry spokesman martyr Natalegawa.

He said it would be composed of four men -- one each from the national police and the foreign ministry and two from the national intelligence agency.

They had been scheduled to leave on Saturday but the departure had to be postponed over "some technicalities," he said today, declining to elaborate. National Police Chief General Da'i Bachtiar said over the weekend that the team was still awaiting the green light from Islamabad.

Natalegawa said the officials were expected to meet the six Indonesian students detained after raids on religious schools in Karachi this month. One of them is Rusman Gunawan, the brother of detained alleged top terrorist Hambali. Hambali is considered al-Qaeda's pointman in Asia and the operations chief of JI, which is blamed for the October Bali bombings that killed 202 people and a string of other deadly blasts.

Pakistan is holding 19 student suspects -- 13 from Malaysia and six from Indonesia -- after raids on Islamic schools in Karachi, a magnet for al-Qaeda fugitives and Pakistani extremists.
