TN govt. employees hold talks with Jaya
Chennai, June 27: Representatives of Tamil Nadu government employees and teachers, who have threatened to go on an indefinite strike from July 2 in support of their demands, today held discussions with chief minister Jayalalithaa but no solution appeared in sight.

After the hour-long meeting, a spokesman of the Joint Action Committee of Tamil Nadu Teachers Organisations and government employees organisations (JACTTO-GEO), told reporters that the chief minister heard their demands and promised to make some announcements later after 'consulting officials'. The 12.5 lakh government employees and teachers are demanding, among other things, withdrawal of pension reform measures, full cash payment of gratuity and encashment of earned leave.
