`The Shining` may become horror-themed museum
The hotel that led author Stephen King to write his novel `The Shining` is all set to be turned into a horror museum
London: The hotel that inspired the famous author Stephen King to pen his novel ' The Shining' is all set to open a horror-themed museum.
According to a source, the owners of the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado are planning for the 24 million dollar development, which will include a museum, exhibition space, production facilities and editing suites, The Guardian reports.
The developers, who hope to run the centre as a non-profit public-private partnership, will work in collaboration with the Colorado film school to set up an educational programme and have asked 11.5 million dollar from the state.
Another source revealed that the hotel hopes to become a "year-round horror destination."
Notably, Tinseltown celebrities like Simon Pegg and Elijah Wood are said to be founding board members of the planned film centre.
