US Secretary of State Colin Powell on Sunday spoke to external affairs minister Jaswant Singh and discussed the statement made by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf as also his visit to the region next week. Replying to questions at a press conference in New Delhi, Singh said India looked forward to the visit but dismissed suggestions that it was any sort of mediation or intervention on Indo-Pak issues.
“Nations will be interested in developments in the region but that does not mean intervention in other's affairs''. Singh said his Russian counterpart Igor Ivanov also spoke to him on Sunday. Ivanov is also expected to visit India shortly. Bureau Report
